Cranie and Perkins Scoop Awards

27 April 2013

This season has seen a record number of voters - well over the 1,000 mark - with Perkins picking up the majority of votes.

Barnsley Football Club's end of season awards have seen midfielder David Perkins scoop the 'Player of the Year' and defender Martin Cranie the 'Players' Player of the Year' for 2012/13.

List in full

Thomas Clare has picked up the Young Academy Player of the Year (U19s-U16s) after a fantastic season for the young Reds.

Academy Scholar of the Year has gone to striker Rhys Oates, who has proven a handful for most defences in the Under 18s and Under 21s leagues.

It's also been a great year for Danny Rose who picks up the Young Player of the Year - Rose, a Barnsley fan from birth, netted his first senior goal to set the Reds off on their FA Cup run.

Martin Cranie joined the Reds midway through August as a free agent and has had a great début season at Oakwell.

Perkins, who joined the Reds in the summer of 2011, has been instrumental in midfield with his seemingly unlimited energy levels.
